Definition Question Tags
Question tags are the short questions that we put on the end of sentences – particularly in spoken English. There are lots of different question tags but the rules are not difficult to learn.

Auxlliary Verb :
To Be : Is, Am, Are, Was, Were
-          Syafila is smart, isn’t she?
-          Sarah and Brian are not making a bowl of noodle, are they?

To Do : Do, Does, Did
-          She makes a cake to her parent, doesn’t she?
-          She doesn’t make a cake to her parent, does she?

To Have : Has, Have, Had
-          She has never been in Singapore, has she?
-          You have finished your work, haven’t you?

Modals : Can, May, Will, Shall, Could, Might, Should
-          Lisa can’t swim, can she?
-          She will go at 7.00, won’t she?

Elliptical Structure

Definition Elliptical Structure
Eliptical structure is joining two sentences by omitting a part of sentences to make it shorter without changing the meaning.

Too and So : Used for positive sentences
§  He is a student. Her sister is a student.
-> She is a student and so is her sister.
-> She is a student and her sister is too.

Either and Neither : Used for negative sentences
§  He doesn’t know me. The girl doesn’t know me.
-> He doesn’t know me and neither does me.
-> He doesn’t know me and the girl doesn’t either.

Yes/No Question
Definition Yes/No Question
A question calling for an answer of yes or no
We form yes-no questions with an auxiliary verb (be, do or have) + subject + main verb or with a modal verb + subject + main verb
To Be: Is, Am, Are, Was, Were
-          Is she beautiful?
To Do: Do, Does, Did
-          Do you cook everyday?
To Have: Has, Have
-          Have you eaten chicken?
Modals : Can, May, Will, Shall, Could, Might, Should
-              Can you make this kite ?

Wh-Question
Using Who Who(m) What
A question in English that is a request for information. Wh- questions usually start with a word beginning with wh-, but "how" is also included. The wh- words are: what, when, where, who, whom, which, whose, why, and how.
Who (Person)
Subject : Who
Object : Who(m)
Example
Riska saw Budi
1.      Who saw Budi ? Riska
2.      Whom did Riska see ? Budi
What (Thing) : Subject, Object
Example
Salsa bought a new bag
1.      What did Salsa a new bag?
